Re: Blown Air - Eberspacher type heater installation

Hi Lionel, there was an existing early eberspacher system on Dionysus, the heater being installed at the top of the lazarette near the starboard hull on a mounting bracket and the heater ducting - badly damaged- ran from the heater unit, along the stern bulkead down to the bottom of the lazarette, t...

Blown Air - Eberspacher type heater installation

Does anyone have any pictures or suggestions of how they have routed the ducting from their Eberspacher type heater through the lazarrette on the First 30? I cannot see how it can be routed without being in such a position as to be continually damaged by all the normal placing of items in there. Any...

This year I decided to take Dionysus and compete in the Scottish Islands Peaks Race - an endurance race involving mountain running and sailing over 3/4 days around Ar...

Diesel Bug remedy

I recently had an issue with fuel starvation of my BETA 20HP engine... the symptom being intermittent running, cutting out randomly and the engine failing to speed up when under throttle. The issue was random and I could find nothing wrong. However, after a few weeks of this I had enough, the lines ...

We really don't look after our "home" very well, do we?

A great, but very sad film.

Dionysus

Apologies guys, I've not been here for a while. Wonder if anyone else has had issues with High Moisture Readings in the Hull? I had the hull professionally checked over during the winter lay up, and, although there was lots of moisture, and lots of 'pinholes' in the gelcoat from the manufacturing pr...

Re: Scotland the Brave

I live and keep my First 30e here in the West of Scotland, and cannot think of a better place to sail. I can suggest wonderful places to sail, and suggest quiet anchorages, or if you prefer, great marina berths. About the only thing i cannot do is tell you the weather will be good - all I CAN tell y...

Re: Welcome

Ozone.....Apologies for having been away for such a long time. Too much sailing!!!!

Dionysus is kept at a swinging mooring on the Garleoch, in the Upper Clyde area, near Glasgow in the west of Scotland.

Hi Guys,

I've just had my First 30E in the water for 3 months now - up until now i've sailed German (slovakian?), British and Swedish made boats and the First is by far the best!!! I'm lovin' it!!!!!
